Shiloh Christian School, August 2020-May 2021

I'm excited to begin my new role as Director of Bands and Choirs at Shiloh Christian School. This will offer me the opportunity to put what I've learned to use, as well as challenge me to grow in new ways. Go Skyhawks!

Sylvan Learning Center, May 2019-present

I've had the chance to provide tutoring to students ages 5-19 in the areas of math, reading, science, and test preparation. Working at Sylvan has reinforced my belief that "learning should be personal."

BPS/MPS, September 2019-March 2020

I was involved with both Bismarck and Mandan public school districts as a substitute teacher. Primarily, I filled in for music teachers, but I also helped out in other elective and core classes.

AVID Tutoring, September 2018-April 2019

I've recently had the privilege of tutoring with the AVID program at Wachter Middle School. AVID, or Advancement Via Individual Determination, challenges students to hone their problem-solving skills through use of the Socratic Method.

Private Studio Lessons, September 2015-present

I began teaching private flute lessons during my freshman year of college, helping young students grow in their flute-playing abilities.

Jamestown Parks and Recreation,
May 2015-August 2018

Jamestown Parks and Recreation offers an outdoor summer program for children ages 6-12. Beginning in June 2015, I worked both in the parks and later as staff supervisor for the program. I treasure the relationships that were cultivated with the children who participated.

BMSO, August 2016-present

The Bismarck-Mandan Symphony Orchestra (abbreviated BMSO) is the area's professional symphony. I frequently perform as the piccolo player during the concerts throughout the year.

Marvelous Music Camp, February 2019

Local elementary music educators offer annual campus for children in the area; I had the privilege of being involved and seeing various music philosophies in action.

Eckroth Instrument Testing, January 2019/2020

I had the opportunity to help with Eckroth Music's annual instrument testing program. Students who are considering joining band have the chance to try playing different instruments in a fair-style setting. I assisted in giving instructions at the flute table.

Chant Camp, August 2018

Hosted by St. Anne's Parish, Chant Camp teaches young Catholics how to sing traditional chant music for a week out of the summer. I helped out with the students as they rotated to the various stations.

Vacation Bible School, June 2015-June 2018

A formative aspect of my journey in working with youth has been the Vacation Bible School at my home parish. I have volunteered in the skit room, been a small group leader, and co-led the Bible story room.

St. Scholastica Prefect, September 2018-April 2019

A group dedicated to prayer and community, St. Scholastica Hall is composed of women who are trying to grow in faith together. During my senior year of college, I was chosen to fill the role of prefect, a social and spiritual leader in the hall.
